SMITE - Free Account
Smite is a multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA) that is being developed by Hi-Rez studios; the makers of Tribes Ascend and Global Agenda. What differentiates Smite from other MOBA's such as League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth is the perspective. Smite takes place at ground level through a 3rd person view. Smite utilizes the Unreal Engine which provides amazing visuals and offers fast paced skill based combat. Combat in SMITE is action/skill based meaning that each attack must be aimed, movement is controlled similar to that of a first person shooter game.

SMITE Beta Key
The best part about SMITE is that it's absolutely FREE! SMITE is free to play, not pay to win. While you can spend real money in game it doesn't afford you any advantages over a non paying player. Head on over to the account sign up page to create your free account.

Tips & Tricks

Respect the Minions
Minions in Smite are not trash mobs, they hit hard! Also remember that enemy minion waves will only target you if: A) You attack an enemy god in their presence. B) You are the only target available.

Respect the Towers
Repeat after me... "I will not tower dive". Towers also hit hard and each hit will do more damage than the last. The towers will target the first enemy to breach the perimeter. The tower will only target you if: A) You attack an enemy god in range of the tower B) You are the only target available.

Minions aren't worth your Mana
In the early game, save your mana for use against enemy gods. Do not waste it pushing the minion wave. It does little to no good to rush to the enemy tower when you're level 2.

Don't Chase
There are times when an enemy god will escape with a smidgen of health. You will be tempted to chase him through the jungle, minion waves, and towers. Don't do it, it's a trap!

Be Patient
Let the game flow, don't try and force a kill by being overly aggressive. Wait for your chance to strike.

SMITE Gameplay Modes

SMITE - Arena Mode
The gladiators have called out for help and the gods have answered. The Arena game mode is a brawling deathmatch where your goal is to defeat enemy players and their minions by reducing their team ticket count to zero. Average game time is around 15 minutes.

SMITE - Assault Mode
Random God Pick Assault: This mode is similar to the regular conquest mode, but instead features a single lane and no jungle. Your goal is to help protect your base while attacking your enemies' defenses.

SMITE - Conquest Mode
This mode features a three-lane map surrounded by a jungle area. Your base, defended by three Phoenixes and a Minotaur, sits on one end. Your enemy's base is on the other. Average game time is around 30 minutes.

SMITE - Domination Mode
Several Obelisks of Power have appeared in Egypt. Control them to gain victory. Average game time is around 20 minutes.

SMITE - Joust Mode
This game mode allows you to play against a friend or foe in a 1v1 format.

SMITE god Reveals

New characters are added to SMITE often. The best way to learn how to use a new character is to hop into joust mode against a bot, but watching the videos below will give you a head start.

SMITE Tutorial Videos

Below you will find 6 different tutorial videos for SMITE that cover each game mode. (playlist menu at the top left to skip to a specific SMITE tutorial)

SMITE Lingo
...and MOBA lingo in general.

SMITE Lingo
Gank - To blindside an enemy while he is low on health and take him out. Often someone will call for a gank when an enemy character is deep in your territory and both parties are low on health.

Creeps - Can be used to refer to the AI creatures in the jungle or the roman soldiers that spawn from your base and travel down the lane.

Lane - A lane is a path that your creeps travel. Lanes lead to enemy defenses and ultimately the enemy base.

Jungle - The jungle is typically the areas to the left or right of the lane. The jungle contains narrow path ways, limited visibility, and AI creeps that will provide buffs and additional xp and gold when killed. When someone says they are "jungling" it means they will spend most of their time in the jungle wiping out camps and collecting buffs.

Push - The act of "pushing" your creep wave forward by assisting in the destruction of an enemy creep wave so that you can quickly destroy enemy towers/defenses in the lane.

Feeding - This is when you repeatedly and/or carelessly continue to die to the enemy. This is highly frowned upon. Feeding the enemy team gives them an extreme gold and XP advantage.

Tower Diving - Tower diving means you entered within range of a tower to attempt to finish off a fleeing enemy god, or you tried to take out a weakened enemy tower by yourself. Nine times out of 10 this ends with your death. This is frowned upon.

Carry - Certain characters are labeled as a "carry" class. This is because they typically "carry" the team to victory. Carry classes have high damage output and skills that allow them to generate a large number of kills quickly efficiently. Think of characters like Sun Wukong and Bastet.

Pro Tip: Ignore the Ragers - Unfortunately MOBAs are known for the immaturity of the player base who think it's acceptable to belittle and harass teammates. These are the types of people that take no responsibility for their own actions and will blame you for any deaths they incur. It's best not to engage these people. Instead, mute them. This can be accomplished by holding down tab and click the speaker icon next to their name. After the game has finished you can report the player for harassment and/or block them.

Call Your Misses!
Smite Voice Commands

Smite - Ymir
Ymir
Did you know that SMITE has in game voice commands? While SMITE voice commands are available in all game modes, calling misses is generally only for Conquest mode.

What is a miss? A miss is when the opposing enemy character is "missing" from the lane. This is important because it alerts team mates that there is a potential to be ganked.

Luckily, Smite has implemented a voice command system which allows for quick and easy vocal communication with teammates. The voice command list is rather large and can seem intimidating at first, but it is well worth your time to memorize the list for maximum strategy coordination.

For beginners, the commands below will be helpful for you and your team.

VF1 - Enemy Missing Left Lane!
VF2 - Enemy Missing Middle Lane!
VF3 - Enemy Missing Right Lane!

VT1 - Enemies Have Returned Left Lane!
VT2 - Enemies Have Returned Middle Lane!
VT3 - Enemies Have Returned Right Lane!

VD1 - Defend Left Lane!
VD2 - Defend Middle Lane!
VD3 - Defend Right Lane!

V V B - Be Right Back! (use this before recalling to base)
V S T B - I'm returning to base! (use this before recalling to base)

To initiate a voice command simply press the keys in bold above in sequence. (do not press enter first). You'll also notice that the numerical values are consistent across all commands:

1 - Left
2 - Middle
3 - Right

Jungle Camps
What are they?

Smite - Conquest Jungle Map
Jungle camps are sections in the "jungle" that contain a group of neutral monsters/creeps that provide a buff when killed. The buff lasts for 2 minutes and if you are killed by an enemy player while you have a buff, the remainder of the buff will be transferred to the enemy player. (with the exception of the fire giant buff)

Jungle creeps do not have an aggro range. This means you can walk right up to them and they will not attack until you attack them first.

Actually, it's only scratching the surface. There are MANY more voice commands. I haven't taken the time to publish a full list because during beta there was a period where new commands were added frequently.
